Muscle Strain or as it is more commonly as a Pulled Muscle… It occurs when a muscle is stretched beyond it’s normal range of movement and tears. The symptoms of a pulled muscle vary from swelling, pain, weakness, and difficulty or inability to use the muscle. The muscles of the body that are most offten sites for Pulled muscles are neck and shoulders, the lower back and groin. The thighs or quadriceps, the gastronomic or calves, hamstrings that are made up of four muscles. Minor muscle strains resolve with RICE — Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may help manage pain and swelling as well. More serious muscle strains require evaluation and treatment either your Doctor or Bowen Therapist.
