The lymphatic system has a large part to play in removing toxins from the body. At times the body’s reaction to allergies or intolerances can lead to congestion of the lymphatic system. As the lymphatic system does not have its own pump like the circulatory system, it relies upon movement of the surrounding muscular system to compress the lymphatic system and allow it to drain. If the muscular and fascial system is not working effectively, one of the by products can mean the lymphatic system does not drain properly. So if the body is reacting to an allergen with further congestion and then this is not moving – the end result is swelling and pain in the lymphatic system.

Two major paths of the lymphatic system run through the front of our torso and abdomen. To address lymphatic congestion, specific moves including the Lower Respiratory and Pelvic procedures can address this lymphatic congestion. Balancing the muscular and fascial system in these areas can help the muscular system apply the pressure necessary to help the lymphatics drain.
