The Inaugural Bowen Therapy Clinic of Townsville began at Setter’s Health Centre in November of 1991, Benjamin Setter was involved in a motor accident. The injuries sustained left him with a severe spinal curvature. Through a family friend, Benjamin received one Bowen Therapy treatment every week for three months. At the end of this period Benjamin was relieved and surprised to find his spine had straightened.
Impressed with this Bowen Therapeutic Technique, Benjamin attended the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (Bowtech) where he received his Diploma of Proficiency in Bowen Therapy that same year. Since then he has worked tirelessly to bring the healing powers of Bowen Therapy to the attention of his community. And after two decades of practicing Bowen Therapy he is now a leading Bowen Therapy Specialist in his field that has lead to him being asked to mentor other Bowen Therapists. Benjamin has continued studying in line with the changing face of The Bowen Therapeutic Technique in Australia and has attained a Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy, and the Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy from the Border College Of Natural Therapies now the Bowen Training Australia.
From humble beginnings… With the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, the original source material is from Bowtech, the original Bowen Technique was established by Oswald and Elaine Rentsch in 1987. This technique has been taught in a variety of settings, however, is now delivered in a Certificate IV and Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy taught by Bowen Training Australia.
The Bowen Association of Australia (BAA) is an association of Bowen Therapeutic Technique practitioners which assists in facilitating professional indemnity insurance, maintaining the highest professional standards of conduct and practice, assisting with continuing education, and facilitating liaison with health care providers such as insurers to assist with provider numbers.
