While having a Bowen Therapy Treatment, the topic of water, and it’s consumption often arises. The human body is made up of 80% water and body workers have found that higher consumption of water assists in lubricating the muscles, flushing out toxins and general improvement of well-being. Kidney Health Australia cites that water is the recommended fluid to satisfy thirst and that fluid loss should be replaced, keeping in mind the average adult loses 2.5 to 3 litres per day in temperate climates. So those of us in the tropical climate of Townsville should at least be consuming 3 litres per day. Drinking water is the easiest way to increase the fluid intake, however, eating fresh fruit and vegetables can add 20% (or 600ml) of your bodies water needs.
